I began knitting hats and sewing small satchels to pay the bills while traveling across the country with my band. It was a wobbly beginning, knitting in the backseat of a 12 passenger Chevy, but the little endeavor I have undertaken has grown to be a creative outlet that looks at yarn, cast-off clothing, and fabrics and repairs or re-creates them into useful, lovable items that fill a need.
I am an avid road-tripper (as it's part of my job), and my travels around the country allow me to venture into the lives of people and places I never would have otherwise. That dictates a strong respect in my heart for my home as well as others, translating into my perspective on the art of trying. I try to apply the principles of never giving up on something and mending what's broken, whether it be a project, a sweater, a song, or a friendship, to my life, and this little brand is the result.
Starting with the raw material and a vision of potential, the adventure of creating the actual product begins. With my collection of knitting needles and the help of my antique sewing machine lovingly referred to as "Babe" (yes, the blue ox of Paul Bunyan), I have been taught the patience and self-respect of making something worthwhile. It is a little bit of me working out being a part of redemption that I hope you enjoy.
